I was first introduced to whoirun4.com from another FOP parent. The organization exists to pair runners and buddies who cannot run. The purpose behind the movement is to motivate runners to get out there and do their thing and give them something to focus on during the run. The buddy system is an accountability system for the runner and a support system for the buddy.
Claremore’s Zip Gordon is new to the program, but was matched fairly quickly. It seems they have quite a bit more runners than buddies.
His runner Trinity is from Idaho. Our family has never been to Idaho and Trinity had never heard of FOP. See how that worked? Zip gets to spread FOP awareness and Trinity has a reason to get out and run.
Through the whoirun4.com website and a closed Facebook page, runners tell their stories of motivation to their buddies and buddies inspire their runners with messages a couple of times a week. Friendships build and people get fit.
If you know of a buddy that would be eligible (someone who cannot run for themselves), or are interested in partnering up as a runner, I encourage you to check out the website. The steps are pretty simple to get matched up.
We look forward to building a long-lasting relationship with Trinity and the irun4 community.
